Clinton D. Howie

Insurance Defense

Clinton D. Howie leads the firm’s appellate practice. His practice focuses on business and commercial litigation, insurance coverage litigation, professional liability defense, and appellate litigation. He also represents clients in disputes involving commercial transportation, real estate, banking, and commercial and industrial construction projects. Clint has handled a wide range of high-stakes, high-profile cases, including cases profiled in publications such as the Wall Street Journal, the Chronicle of Higher Education, Investment News, and the Texas Lawyer.

Prior to joining David Allen Law Group, Clint practiced at several leading international and regional law firms. Clint has been admitted to practice in the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals, and Federal District Court in Texas, Louisiana, and Nebraska. Clint was a member of the City of Heath Planning and Zoning Commission from 2013-2021. He served as Chairman at the Commission from 2019-2021, and Vice-Chairman from 2016-2019.

Clint earned his Bachelor’s degree from Louisiana State University in 1991, a Master’s degree from the University of Southern California in 1994, and a Juris Doctor from Southern Methodist University Dedman School of Law in 1996. While at SMU, Clint was a Hatton W. Sumners Scholar and served as President of the SMU Law Review Association.
